Wedding Palette Board: Mustard and Teal

I'm always looking for a palette combination that's a little off of the beaten path but still aesthetically pleasing, and this one delivers! Weddings aren't just pink and white these days; a dash of deep teal adds to the richness and warmth of the mustard. Just perfect for a vintage wedding!

Wedding Palette Board: Pumpkin & Midnight Sky

Okay, I wanted to do a Halloween inspired wedding board for you guys without all of the jim-crack of jack-o-lanterns, witches and bats (which we all LOVE, but everything has its place~). Pumpkin orange, witch green and black create the essence of the holiday and are perfect mates for the palette of this wedding board. Don't you just love the wedding ticket invitations and the pumpkin votives?!

Butterfly Table Numbers

I love the use butterflies in the fall. Their wings are truly in the season's palette. Butterflies also represent new beginnings, the perfect symbol for a wedding date. Here's an easy way I Incorporated them into table numbers:

Other than your ink and card stock, this project is free. Here is what I used:

Free butterfly clip art from Wordplay. You can also find vintage botanical butterfly clip art at Antique Clip Art.

Blog Stalking and Other Adventures

I love this time of year. Getting away with wearing my geeky tartan clothes, soups and stews bubble away on the stove, dog walks in the woods, and football games are a few of the things that make me most happy. Looks as though my blogger friends agree.

Happy Monday! Etsy Love to Start the Week..

I love the Etsy shop Sunshine and Ravioli; Stephanie Butler, the shop owner, is a talented artisan with a keen eye for vintage designs. I am particularly enchanted with her shop's autumn wedding favor cones ; the faux bois paper is so subtle and lovely for this time of year.

These seashore save the date bookmarks are just darling! Each one is hand cut and stamped.

Sunshine and Ravioli is also a hot spot for gift tags for all holidays and occasions. I think this flatware tag is tres charmant~.

Apple Orchard Wedding Inspiration

Few things to me would be as romantic as a wedding reception in an apple orchard (okay, minus the bees and other issues that may arise from fallen fruit). There is something so innately pleasing about the trees all lined up and the woodsy tone of the landscape flecked with cheerful splashed of red.

Vintage Victorian Wedding Inspiration

Think burgundy and vintage rose, antique metals and time worn blue. This palette and texture combination is so irreverently autumn, without the typical abundance of orange and yellow that's in most fall weddings. I'm so inclined to muse about grandma's old cameo, an antique velvet and celluloid photo album, and pee gee hydrangeas at the end of September.

Fall's Bounty

I look forward to every issue of Martha I receive, but the fall editions are always my favorite. From the soul comforting recipes to the cozy photos of tartan wool blankets and roaring fireplaces, I flip through each paging wishing I lived in it.

This board is a fall-meets-woodland wedding palette. I love the surprise touches of burnished red in some of the photos.

Fall Wedding Inspiration

It's a little premature, but I've been in fall mode for the past week. Soups and stews bubbling on the stove, goodies baking in the oven, warm flannel blankets and fires roaring. Time to settle in with a good book and a mug of cocoa. I could go on with this idyllic scene I have in my head, but you get the picture. It's the inspiration for this vintage, rustic fall collage.

Real Wedding: Todd Pellowe Photography

Todd Pellowe just about had me stumped. After checking out his blog, I was at a complete loss. How was I supposed to choose one wedding from the gazillion gorgeous sets? The next one was more beautiful, more unique than the one before.

So I based my choice on today's cool weather. Maybe it's a sign that fall's right around the corner, maybe the odds are that August has at least one temperate day, who knows. But I was drawn to the richness of this wedding. I often post casual, home grown, organic weddings, but figured hey, let's class this joint up for a little bit.

Meet Jessica and her bridesmaids. Jessica married Jason in Louisville, KY this summer. Jessica is drop dead, cover your boyfriend's eyes gorgeous. Her bridesmaids look awesome in their mismatched yet coordinating dresses. Pheasant feathers in the bouquets? You bet. I said classy, didn't I?

If you want to see more, click here. And don't blame me when you're up until 1 am examining every detail in Todd's photos. You've been warned.
